5 Stars Good value, game’s ok, too.
I bought this game just for the guitar, basically. If you buy a wireless guitar separate it is much more expensive (which I do not understand at all). I was pre-ordering Guitar Hero:Metallica so I could not get with the controller bundled, but I was guitar-less. So looking on the compatibility chart, this guitar works with GHM, with a bonus game that sounded ok… so I played this game for a couple days waiting for GHM to get delivered and after that let it gather dust. The guitar works great!
4 Stars Awesome!
This game was my first foray into the Guitar Hero experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
5 Stars Guitar Hero III Rocks
Had previously played this game with this guitar controller belonging to someone else. Bought this to have one for myself. Great game with fun replay value. Song selection is good and most are very fun to play on the hard difficulty setting.
The only problem people may encounter with this bundle is that the Les Paul controller has issues with the connections in the neck some time down the road after it has experienced wear and tear. The neck connects to the body and after a good amount of use the connection is not as secure causing one or more of the fret buttons to not register. This problem could be solved (on the old controller I played with. My new one is just fine) by pushing the two pieces back together every time the problem occurred.
The plus about this controller is that other than the connection issue it seems to be very reliable AND you can use this controller to also play Rock Band as it is compatible with that game as well unlike the first Rock Band guitar which was of shotty construction and started to break right away and was not compatible with Guitar Hero games.
5 Stars Great Game…
I liked this game so much, It took a week to deliver but now I am satisfied with the quality of this product…
2 Stars Game is fun, but guitar is horrible
There are some really fun songs on this installment of the “Guitar Hero” series, but you’re better off just buying the stand-alone game instead of the bundle, because the guitar that comes with this is a piece of junk. Unless you’re pointing the neck down toward the ground, be prepared for unexpected star power launches. Also, when you’re holding down long notes, don’t be surprised if they suddenly aren’t being held down anymore. And when you write to customer service about the worst gamer guitar you’ve ever played (and I’ve got five others), be prepared for them to ignore you. It wouldn’t be so bad if they would at least release a downloadable update to make this game compatible with the “Rock Band” guitars (like there is with “World Tour” and “GH: Aerosmith”), which are much better controllers than this.

5 Stars wish it was on ps3
i beat the first disc of this game and can safely say its quite simply an amazing game … if you love rpgs and own a 360 this is a must have game … also dont switch to jap cause the english dub is astoundingly good … one of the best dubs ive ever seen in my life
5 Stars Very Under Rated
Since this game has been out for a while now you likely know what its about.
So I’ll skip that in this review, what I want to tell you is that this is a very deep RPG, with a emotional driven story, that will have some at the brink of tears and then feeling accomplished with each success.
The game play takes your normal battle system that you tend to find in games such as Final Fantasy, but adds some major tweaks that make you feel like you are doing something and a deeper than selecting commands. This is wonderful especially during those long hard boss battles.
As for flaws, to much reading involved for some players and little things here and there. But nothing that really takes away from being able to enjoy this game as you play threw the 30 something hours.
Now that money is so tight for everyone you should take a chance and pick up this game at its new low price and enjoy what has quickly became one of my favorite RPG’s to date.
5 Stars As expected!
Game came sealed and delivered (slow as always but thats what you get when you make the order with free shipping). So enjoyable game ^_^
4 Stars Lost Odyssey – Diamond in the rough
I got this because of my brother. I wanted to play an RPG on the “newer” systems, which there are not that many. I was pleasantly surprised! I’ll try and keep it short. The thing that I loved the most was when Kaim retreives his memories via dreams. Those are some of the most well written and touching stories that truly make you think and feel. The worst part of the game is the character Jansen. Completely worthless! Also, it sucks that your aircraft can’t land on land! Yikes! Everyone in your team has a purpose so there are no waste of space (except Jansen). This game is really worth the $[...]. Lost Odyssey
3 Stars Disappointed
Lost Odyssey really just wants to be something like, Final Fantasy VII. I understand that a few members of the production team has previously worked on FF titles, but really, this game was a let down. From graphics, to game play, to story, Losy Odyssey fails to bring something original to the table. Features and characteristics of the game have have been done better in other RPG titles. Ok, maybe I’m being a little harsh and I admit I do have a strong bias towards FF. But when you break down the battle system, character abilities, and even the armor system, everything feels like it lacks thought and creativity. The plot is a little wild, but the cut scenes are definitely nice to watch. Don’t get me started on the 1,000 years of dreams sequences. Those terribly bugged me. I thought it was a cheap and lazy implementation of something that could’ve been really unique and engaging to add to the plot.
I would recommend this game as a rental or pre-owned purchase, and I would only recommend it if you have already gone through all the more respected RPG titles for the xbox 360 system.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
In the game, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

2 Stars EA Needs To Lose The Harry Potter Video Game License
Hello, need reader canary talented really.
The above mess is a Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince video game experience. And I know despite what I write, if you’re here you will end up playing the game anyway, hoping I’m mistaken. I will continue if only to persuade you to rent the game at best or wait for the inevitable, monstrous price drop.
To Begin – The Story, Characters, and Sound:
If you needed to write a report on the Half-Blood Prince film, this video game wouldn’t even be acceptable as cliff notes. Scenes cut in and out, not caring about anything silly like making sense.
The video game starts with a random brush up with Quidditch at the Burrow and then bipolars you straight to the scene in Diagon Alley with Draco Malfoy. Why? That question should be read as a scream.
And from there you jump from moment to moment like a mental patient, who isn’t improving.
As far as the characters in this cliff note of cliff notes, everyone is at least acceptable or great. Great, as in the case of when the film actors lend their voice (the focus being on Rupert Grint-Ron). The acceptable being characters like Snape and generally the look of everyone. There is one huge exception: Hermione. The actress who lends her voice is fine, but the rendered character looks nothing like Emma Watson. She looks more like Mema Witson, and while she’s a great girl and all, Mema isnt in Harry Potter. The real problem is that Harry and Ron look reasonably similar to Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint (having gone through the work in the previous game, whereas Emma Watson did not, to my knowledge) so Hermione, aka Mema Witson, stands out.
The music of the games is always either nice or fantastic. This game favors more toward simply nice, but whoever thought that adding a record scratch to highlight an awkward moment between Harry and Ginny was a good idea; way to stand out, my man. That was truly A+ dumb.
Well, I’d love to continue with my review, but I need to have a duel.
The Middle, Gameplay?:
The Order of the Phoenix game had 3 things going for it: a beautiful Hogwarts, most of the film actors participated, and the painting that loved Chops and Gravy. Yum yum yum yum, gravy. This game?
Duel, quidditch (by which I mean flying through stars), and potions. Potions, duel, quidditch, punch making? Duel, potions, duel, quidditch. That is the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince game.
And while dueling is far more refined here than in previous games, it pops up everywhere, and all you need to do is knock your opponent down once with Expelliarmus (yes, I looked up how to spell a lot of things in this review) and it’s game over. And while potions can be fun, these are side games and side games do not a video game make. I get the feeling that, oh hold on. I need to duel again.
As I was saying, if EA would just put itself in a timeout and make a game based on several movies, we’d actually get an inspired gift of a game as opposed to these socks we keep getting. Or even if they, oh, I don’t know, gave a damn? EA has done a Quidditch game before, so why isn’t there at least a full on game here instead of Harry going through stars? Why can’t we control other characters in actual mission, versus doing the same things Harry does (how fun would a thought out Luna side-mission be?). And whereas Order of the Phoenix was nothing but a list of chores to do, Half-Blood Prince is the same only with your mom running out of patience with you. GO PRACTICE QUIDDITCH NOW!!!!.
The only beauty comes from a very beautiful source, the character of Luna Lovegood. As you’re lighting fireworks, and trying very hard but unsuccessfully to get a great look at Hogwarts lit by the exploding color wheel, Luna pleads “I wish fireworks didnt have an end.”
The End:
This game was supposed to be released in November ’08, as was the film (damn you Warner Brothers). But stock market greed from Warner’s pushed the due date to June ’09. And what did EA do with that extra time? Worked on Madden 11?
But that’s irrelevant. To EA, this game was never meant to be anything but a cash grab, and all the extra time + 1 would never have made it any better. Ever since the Prisoner of Azkaban game, EA’s effort with Harry Potter has equaled my effort in personal grooming when I was 12. Let’s say, not so great. But the films and the books have been about love and bravery and effort. Where is any of that in these games? Where is it?
I really want better things to say, but ….. I solemnly swear this game is no good.
4 Stars Fun and easy game for just about everyone
Let me start by saying that I did not like the Order of the Phoenix video games – they were a lot of running around for nothing. If you did enjoy that game, you will love this improved game which incorporates what seems to be a completely explorable Hogwarts. As you wander you collect school crests. There is a storyline that sort of follows the book and you can wander off from the storyline to do other things.
There are three main game types incorporated into the storyline that you must participate in: making potions (like Cooking Mama); Duelling club (wand dueling); an Quidditch skills (mostly fly through hoops at high speeds). None of the games are particularly difficult which is a good thing for younger players. The game is rated 10+ and that certainly is appropriate as a 10 year old could play this without a problem. Advanced gamers may find everything a bit too easy, but it is still fun and visually interesting.
PROS: free-roam Hogwarts which feels very accurate; character voices/acting is decent; duelling is a lot of fun especially with the Death Eaters; multi-player.
CONS: potions is like Cooking Mama – it is a big part of this game; still lots of wandering the castle but with a great guide Nearly Headless Nick and many portrait shortcuts; Characters don’t look exactly like the actors but close enough where you will forget this after a few minutes.
Overall it is a must for an HP fan even if you did not enjoy the prevous games. The XBox controls are great. The music adds to the experience though I’m not sure if it’s from the film. Replay is available in Potions, Quidditch and Duelling. Also, once the storyline is complete you can wander Hogwarts in Endless Day mode to find all of the crests.
3 Stars the millionth mediocre game in a row
in my endless optimism that someone will finally make a really great game i had a flash of hope for this one. i think it was maybe sometime last fall or late last summer, and it was because it had two things going for it. first, the previous game, order of the phoenix, created a big, thorough, really well done, hogwarts. i mean the game was rather bland and sometimes tedious, but in my fantasy of optimism i could say “hey, they’ve invested all their effort in the basics of this world then ran out of time and money, but next time they have all their groundwork already laid down for themselves!” then, second, the movie got delayed and so must follow a delay on the game, giving them a half year free time to work on this.
enter reality; small companies might put it all on the line with mild resources, but, when they succeed they get bought up by large corporations whose pure and overwhelming interest is wringing money out of everything they touch. they’re not even that great at doing that, just powerful and remorseless. this game was made by a very large corporation. you can feel it. everything in it is just good enough and not an inch more. you got your nice environment that you can explore and collect crests. a bit thin, but at least it’s some reason for exploration. the crests unlock, well, useless junk as far as i’m concerned (unlockable rpg ish skills would have been great here, but, oh, thats too much effort and the movie book connection here will sell most of the games). the story is all sort of random and disjointed, more for alluding to things you should already know, and you sort of careen your way through it by going to locations (exploring, sort of, though where the next place is is very clear if you employ headless nick to guide you) and triggering off the minigame cutscene progression elements. these are built around the said minigames: potions (a fun minigame that could have been really good if just a smidge deeper), dueling (yeah yeah, it’s okay, a shooting thing that feels more like a fighting game, all sort of foramalized), and quidditch (race through hoops for the illusion of quidditch, not my favorite but not terrible). that’s it. really. i’m not finished w/ this game yet (may or may not happen), but there is no way, i mean no way, this game is going to be suprising me at this point. it is incredibly rare i am suprised by a game anyway. they’re all so conservative! arrggh! so, this is another. ah well…

3 Stars It’s OK
This game didn’t have much of a chance since it came out after COD4 Modern Warfare. The graphics are amazing, of-course and the game play is the usual, but it just cannot compare to it’s big brother!
4 Stars good game
Not as good as Call of Duty 4 – “Modern Warfare”. Would skip this one and either get COD 4 or wait for the soon to be released “Modern Warfare 2″.
I don’t play the campaigns – only multiplayer on XBOX live. Modern Warfare has been the 2nd best game I own — after Left 4 Dead.
4 Stars The co-op display could’ve been better
I love this game. The story, the action, the weapons, etc. It’s good game overall. It’s just the co-op local split-screen was kinda wack. I thought that they could’ve given more options for the split-screen display. But other than that…. GREAT GAME!
3 Stars The Great Grenade Game
Ok. I’ve thoroughly played this game through in every game mode available. Zombies is fun no matter what, unless you completely suck at the game, or you are playing with someone that completely sucks at the game. In order for you to earn your title of not sucking at the game, beat the campaign on hardened. Not too hard. Multiplayer level doesn’t really count because you will eventually kill some people and level up. So just because you are a high level doesn’t mean your good. I play against tons of people who completely suck at the game, they just play it A TON. My complaint about the game is that the campaign really has no story. Instead of the Russian campaign for Europe, which was one of the high points of the game, they should make it even better by putting the Europe campaign in the hands of the Airborne, preferably either the 82nd or the 101st (The Paratroopers of D-Day). I don’t know nearly as much about the Pacific campaign as the European, but I do know that if they had stretched the campaign all the way from Pearl Harbor to the final hours at Okinawa, and included the Iwo Jima invasion, then the game would have been 10 times as awesome. They also could do something where you are the bombardier of the B-29 that dropped the A- Bomb on Hiroshima. This game could have been a lot better. Historical accuracy isn’t as important as playability
4 Stars Great Game
I would, if possible give this game a 4.75 stars. The game is great, diffcult, and multiplayer modes are fun. I just wish you could get achievements with friends in the game mode, but the game is great. I was shocked how going back to WW2 made the game fun and fresh, playing both american and russian styles of fighting.

User Ratings and Reviews
4 Stars Cheap alternative…
I purchased the black rechargeable battery to match my elite controller. My fault was realizing that this doesn’t come with the play and charge cord but it was no biggie since I already have one for my other controller. I opened the package an plugged it into my controller and immediately plugged in the cord to charge it. The light on the charger went red then green then blank. I plugged it into my other controller to no avail. After some troubleshooting on xbox.com, apparently some of these batteries are faulty. No biggie though, I ordered a replacement from Amazon at no additional charge. They work really well and if you play allot they are much cheaper than buying bucket loads of AA’s.
2 Stars Great, for a while
These are great, but as mentioned before, they die. I’ve had three, all different colors, and they all stopped working. Do not buy. Just use regular rechargeable batteries.
4 Stars Limited Lifetime
Apparently Amazon thinks this is battery pack is a game, haha…
Oh well… the pack is good… But won’t last forever… mine lasted about a year and a half.
5 Stars It certainly beats AA batteries
I bought this to replace my last rechargeable battery pack. Convenient product at a great price.
5 Stars Great battery pack
This batery pack works great. At least with this I can easily charge mine while I’m playing without ever handling batteries.NINTENDO CAN’T EVEN MATCH THIS!!!Microsoft beats Nintendo anyday.
